Opening of Ugakei Circles
Now open to visitors!
Dive into the depths of the Japanese forests and reconnect with mother nature. Our regenerative Ugakei Circles is all about community in the wild and uses architecture as a gateway to the mountains of the Mie Region. All spaces in the project are circular and are built of biogenic materials like timber and bark.
We believe cities and nature must come closer in a more sustainable future. Ugakei Circles can be reached in an hour by millions of city dwellers from Nagoya, Osaka and Kyoto and we are excited that the camping site is now finally open to the public.
The project 'Nordisk Hygge Circles Ugakei' is designed for Nordisk and the City of Inabe by our team of TREDJE NATUR, Structured Environment and Henrik-innovation. The contractor is Aichiken. Video by Nordisk and Daigo Yamaguchi.
