Ubara Beach House complete

July saw the completion of the wonderful Ubara Beach House in Chiba. This is a small timber-framed house with steelwork inserted in a few areas to deal with wind and earthquake loads, especially on the fully open beach-view upper facade. Low-cost structural engineering used to good effect.
